Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular California Shoreline

A chopper soaring above a crowded California beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm groves as spectators observed.

Recordings posted on the internet capture the chopper commencing to spiral near the beach then falling towards the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.

Emergency Response Information

The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were rushed to the hospital involving two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on the weekend.

Three individuals on the street were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.

The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
